Senior Accountant, Accounts Receivable
Purpose of role:
This role is part of the in-market Finance Team and responsible for Accounts Receivable function. The role is required to review the work performed by GBS Team including adherence to timeline, accuracy of accounts receivable balance and ledger postings; review account reconciliation and ensure smooth month end closing process; comply with Finance policies and procedures, Inchcape InControl Framework and Financial Reporting Standards; work closely with the business units, customers, GBS to resolve any operational issue; work with the GBS and business unit to review, streamline work processes to drive efficiency. This role also supports treasury and corporate secretarial function.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage, monitor the work performed by GBS, ensure accuracy and completeness in accordance with accounting principles and all relevant regulations, laws and standards, smooth month end/year end closing and no material adjustment raised by auditor. This includes review the transaction, journal, receipt allocation/application, debtor provision, till control recon etc.
- Monitor the debtor aging report closely and minimize the overdue debtor.
- Review closing schedule include bank reconciliation and follow up the aged item with GBS and business operation.
- Key contact to resolve any invoice or collection discrepancy issue with GBS, external party(customer), business operation.
- Key person to deal with any audit issue related to Accounts Receivable function include external audit, any regulatory bodies or internal audit team.
- Manage cash flow and liquidity to ensure optimal funding and financial continuity.
- Liaise with banks in accounts management and regulation.
- Liaise with external/internal corporate secretarial/legal department on company secretarial/legal matters including treasury related board resolutions.
- Provide HR support as needed.
- Ensure the company's compliance with all relevant laws, regulations and industry standards.
Qualifications:
- Degree in Accounting, HKICPA/ACCA or other professional qualifications.
- At least 5 years relevant experience.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, i.e. Microsoft Excel, Power point and Word especially good command of advance Microsoft Excel formulas and functions.
- Possess good interpersonal skills with ability to liaise and communicate effectively with people from all levels; internal and external.
- Independent, resourceful and able to work as a team in a fast-paced and dynamic environment.
