DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Develop EH&S strategies and plans to meet company objectives.
- Evaluate, maintain and review the EHS management system to ensure the EHS policies and procedures are carried out efficiently and meet company requirements.
- Scan environment for potential risks and advise the relevant parties to devise methods or procedures to eliminate or control the risks identified.
- Conduct incident investigation on fatality, accidents and serious environmental incidents. Make use of ACE tools to identify root causes and assist line department to develop preventive and corrective action plans.
- Conduct management audits and site inspections to ensure line department comply with EHS management system.
- Conduct unannounced FPA audits and Go permit application verification audits to ensure safety rules and system compliance.
- Maintain and monitor the EHS record and retention is in line with Company requirements.
- Attend customer safety site meetings, submit safety plan as per project contractual requirements and participate site walks and inspections.
- Identify safety training needs and assist HRS to prepare annual training budget and arrange internal and external safety trainings.
- Conduct safety trainings
- Prepare monthly tool-box meeting materials and conduct subcontractor tool-box meetings.
- Assist and supervise NE/Service field operations on Waste Management System.
- Handle internal and external enquiries on EHS matters.
- Develop, review and revise Safety Instructions and Work Instructions
- Keep abreast of code and regulations and of technological development and disseminates the knowledge to the staff concerned through training.
- Establish and maintain good working relationship with Labor Department to enhance EHS management system.
- Liaise closely with other Sections/Departments to ensure smooth running of EHS activities.
- Perform responsibilities in compliance with the UTC Code of Ethics
QUALIFICATIONS
1. Undergraduate Degree or equivalent.
2. Sound knowledge of environmental, health and safety management system
3. Holder Certificate of Civil Construction Safety Supervisor Course
4. Minimum 5 years EH&S experience in construction industry
5. Knowledge in elevator and escalator is an advantage
