Our client is a 6-star luxury hotel developer in Macau who is currently searching for a seasoned and experienced Project Director to oversee the development of a large 12,000 seat multi-purpose arena.

Reporting to the business director, you will be tasked with leading the project management department to deliver the largest entertainment arena in Macau.  You will:

• Lead and manage the execution of this business-crucial capital project, with complete responsibility for all aspects of development including cost, schedule, scope and quality during the design, procurement and construction stages.
• Oversee a team of project managers and make certain that all project support, training, resources and information are made available to them.
• Co-ordinate with other business counterparts to develop and adopt the effective practices in design, construction, procurement, infrastructure standards, workplace standards, and approach to project management.
• Build strong relationships with all contractors, consultants & external vendors, continually driving to provide commercial and innovative methods of operation across a wide range of projects (both financially and vocationally).
• Develop and maintain a broad range of performance criteria and control mechanisms to ensure compliance with all appropriate regulations and to allow for internal and external benchmarking and performance measurement.

Degree qualified in a relevant discipline, you will have upwards of 20 years’ experience in successfully managing entertainment, convention and sports development projects. You will;

• Have a proven high level of technical and professional expertise ensuring ability to challenge with credibility the professionals within the internal team together with external vendors, consultants and other service providers.
• Be proactive and innovative, displaying the drive and energy required to meet the continuous challenges this role will present, whilst maintaining a pragmatic approach and a positive attitude.
• Be a decision-maker, highly motivated with strong business acumen and possessing first class communication, presentation skills and strategic planning skills with strong emphasis on managing by objectives and performance measurement.
• Demonstrate excellent inter-personal, people management and business skills, together with a strong desire to lead by example and a firm belief in the power of teamwork.
• Have a strong client service and relationship management outlook, with the ability to challenge and influence stakeholders whilst being co-operative and collaborative in style.
• Be an experienced commercial manager, used to managing multiple vendors and ensuring exceptional service delivery in a demanding commercial framework.
